Room with a view

The Blip is our view of the stretch of water between Phaihia and Russel (landmass in the distance) from our motel room. The weather was driving straight into us throughout the night and most of today. The cyclone (Luci) arrived at Paihia (Bay of Islands) around midnight providing us with a very windy and wet night – we slept through it all. Today the weather is much the same with bursts of high wind, the occasional break in the rain with the sun trying to shine through. Telephone (land-lines) and Wi-Fi systems down for a while but thankfully power available. Spent the day in the motel room watching the weather and a few DVD's. Tomorrow we set off for Auckland.
