Food Festival

Dubai is having a city-wide Food Festival. Seems to be a new thing this year or I am really out of it!! One of the "events" has been these beach canteens, set up on three locations on Jumeirah Beach. The canteens are made of pre-used 20ft containers and placed on wooden decking. The first site we visited was circular and a bit of a pain to get around. This is the second one (Burj Al Arab or Sunset beach) and has such a neat layout. It also has sofas to sit on, patio heaters, and a DJ! The one at this particular venue played some really cool beach music unlike at the first place.

Sadly we have caught this on the second last day! It all ends tomorrow. G said had she known what it was like, she would have brought herself here with her book everyday after school!

We happened to sit next to a group of Filipinos who struck up a conversation with Geraldine. Turns out they are fellow Christians! That led to a long conversation and ended with them giving us their VIP tickets to the Boat Show which they are not going to be able to use! Amazing! Got home much later than expected, but it's been such a great evening! :)))
