Kendal's, Manchester....

I took this picture of Kendal's (or to give it it's Sunday name, Kendal Milne & Co.) last night with my iPad. I liked the purple flood lighting up the Art Deco facade. I don't have an expensive camera that can do crystal clear night shots but I was impressed with the iPads camera. I think 15 years ago we would have been delighted with a night picture of this quality from a camera then.

Kendal's has been the shop of choice for Manchester's well to do for over 175 years. It's the Queen of Deansgate in its store that occupies an entire city block and more than holds its own in the face of competition from new pretenders, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, on Exchange Square. It's owned by House of Fraser now who tried to rebrand it. But if you ask the directions to House of Fraser you are likely to be met with blank looks. Ask for Kendal's and you will have no problems. And House of Fraser was happy to celebrate that 175th anniversary last year...
