I was glad to wake up in my own home today. Home - such an important concept and place: where we belong; where we feel comfortable; where we shelter from the outside world.

By mid-afternoon the sofa wasn't as appealing and I thought it was time I left the flat. Got on a bus into town (took loads of horrible shots from the top deck) and went to The Filmhouse to see Her. What a fascinating film!

When I got home I noticed some cars stopped a little further down the street. Turns out a neighbour from up the street had fallen and these kind, random strangers were helping out, sitting with her, calling an ambulance. Two of the helpers were big, muscled, tattooed, polite young men. Don't believe 'em when the press tell you all young people are lazy, self-obsessed wasters. These two were golden. The woman's partner took her to A&E and I think she'll be fine.
