Pancakes and sadness

Jnr was out at drama club last night so we weren't able to do pancakes last night. OH is away to Glasgow so just the 2 of us so it was pancakes for tea - just simple with sugar and lemon - yum.

However, a damper on the day (as well as the weather) was the shocking news that one of the white tailed eagle chicks that fledged in Ireland last year has been found shot dead. Irish white tailed eagles raised chicks successfully in Ireland last year so to lose 1 of the 2 chicks is a huge blow. The young make was found with 45 to 50 pellets and would have suffered a long lingering death.

I despair of the human race sometimes
