One Turtle Dove

Elsie is poorly today, and its raining. So I spent most of the day keeping her company, looking out the bedroom window. Lots of bird life there - the window overlooks the small maize planting, which is growing taller by inches every day.

I'm a bit worried about Elsie. All she wants to do is sleep, and I can't get her to eat anything. She isn't fevered or sick, but she obvioulsy feels very strange, says there is something wrong in her head. This is what makes me feel very far from home. What to do if she is really ill?

Turtle doves are apparently on the decrease in Britain, but there seems to be no shortage of them here.
