Rainy season means rice growing time.  Looks like this year is going to be OK, no shortage of rain yet.

Rice is hugely important, if the harvest fails it is disastrous.  There are many different words for rice - mpunga, for rice which is growing, mchele for rice which is ready to cook, wali for cooked rice.  And probably may more that I don't know.
