Feeling a little wild now...
Fifi's still with us, so thought I'd try out the (nearly) new point-and-shoot. Turns out black velvet and white cats combine better in theory than in practice - white hairs everywhere.
No work came in today (now that's a sign of a good Friday, so headed downtown to pick up my two lenses, in for repair and cleaning, respectively. By the time I'd paid for all that, bought a protective filter and two new lens covers, plus SD card, spare battery and lead for the little camera, I'd dropped more money than I care to tell HH about (a mere nothing compared with what he spends on his guitars).
Back home to produce a cold lunch (it's still HOT here), then started checking air fares to the UK in the summer. Practice rounds for the Open golf at Hoylake, where HH is a member and sis-in-law has tickets for us, start on the Sunday of the World Cup final in Rio. Not that we have tickets for the footie (get a better view on the box), but we're belatedly thinking of renting out rooms, or even the house in Teresópolis (which is apparently where the teams will be resting/practicing between rounds), so probably need to be here at least till the final. Anyone interested - middle of Copacabana, three blocks from the beach, shops, transport etc all close by?
Back to the phone company just before they closed, to find that I can't, as I was told previously, change back to my old number a month after taking out a new plan. How I hate them all (not the attendants, who were all very nice) - everything's designed to confuse and tie you up.
My sympathies to all the people suffering floods and gales in the UK, snowstorms in the US, volcanic eruptions in Java, and everyone else that's feeling the effects of all this extreme weather. The news reports are horrifying.
Having said that, have a good weekend!
