Bad notes and better ones

A wee domestic tragedy occurred today, when cushions piled up by the painter fell onto HH’s recently renovated guitar and broke its neck. I believe our kamikaze, rocket-propelled daily, with a record for breakages, when she says she was nowhere near it at the time. She was as stricken as I was, but when we broke the news to HH, he was remarkably calm (‘these things happen’), and went down to pick up the pieces – I should have blipped it first, but that would have been too callous. Ah well, when something similar happened once before, our repair with wood glue lasted for years.

On a more cheerful note, decided to blip the two pictures we’ve just had reframed. I bought them from a junk dealer in the street, framed side by side in jacaranda (a wood you can’t get your hands on now). However, I thought they would look better separately and we’re very pleased with the results.

With some difficulty, met my translation deadline, Now I’m hoping to winkle HH out of the house to go and see “The Book Thief”.
