I’m a wild dog – walk me!

Kayla went so wild when we arrived that she twice jumped clean over the window box and through the window, even after we had closed it to a gap she clearly couldn’t get through. A long walk was an immediate priority. My blip was going to be a collage of the flowers I found in the garden (not many, the ants get most of them) and up the hill, but decided to give her some air time instead.

Left Rio shortly after 6.30 am to get HH onto the tee by 9 am. He made it round 14 holes before running out of steam. I didn’t play because of my bad knee. A friend said “why not hire a cart?” and I had to confess the idea hadn’t even occurred to me. Still in two minds – I’ve played golf all my life, but half the appeal is the exercise, though I still prefer walking in the countryside. Anyway, while he played, I went into town, a place I usually avoid, and tied down a few chores. An old acquaintance who has a photocopy/graphics shop made something special – a large poster on photographic paper of the invitation to HH’s 70th last year, to use as a backing for photos of the party. The theme was Musical Theatre and the invitation was crammed with the titles of all the musicals I could think of, in different fonts and colours. As no work came in, I then amused myself for hours cutting out silhouettes of the guests in their fancy dress.

A bit cooler today, and the rain threatened, but still didn’t arrive.
