Orchids for Leonine

Leo was in for major surgery today, so here's a get well soon offering. Hope you'll be able to blip from your bed soon, Leo - watch out for those pretty nurses !

Had to take the photo with my Android, as my macro lens isn't ready yet - when I phoned before heading downtown to collect it, all I got was the estimate, and a pretty salty one at that. It will only be ready on Thursday. Still haven't bought a battery and SD card for the point-and-shoot.

A faffing sort of a day, but reality is creeping in - an urgent translation for delivery "yesterday". Perhaps I should start on it soon. Late for physio as I'd completely forgotten that she'd changed the day this week. Fifteen minutes less prodding, but also less relief.

Fifi the snowy, blue-eyed cat is still with us, eager to explore the rest of the house, but the other two cats lie in wait outside the door. Must do more to find her a new home.

Had an excellent get-together with digitaldaze and Barrioboy last night, and another Scottish friend and his Brazilian partner came along too. She's joining blipfoto - patotario (patota means 'group of friends'- but she gave me lots of definitions for brio in Portuguese that aren't what I had in mind at all - I though of it as a combination of British and Rio, with shades of 'con brio', as in music, i.e. lively. Ah well...). Anyway, please make her welcome - Bb was giving her email instructions on how to post photos today.

Dd and Bb once again introduced us to a place that we'd never been to in our 40-odd years in Copacabana. We might know the area quite well by the time they've finished.
