My Baby's back.....
...still has his baby feathers. He reappears every hour or so but usually dashes away as soon as I reach for the camera. When we're not there, during the week, he's obviously more at ease, but if I'm sitting on the veranda he glances longingly at the bromeliad flowers but doesn't often pluck up the courage to sample them. The creeper is a little further away.
This shot nearly lost out to an amazing sunset. The storm clouds were gathering all day, sometimes purple, sometimes yellow, always threatening. By the time we were heading down the mountain, the sunset had turned the sky to the strangest multiple shades ranging through pink to fuchsia to pinky-purple - we had never seen anything like it. Rushing to get back to Rio to meet digitaldaze and Barrioboy for a meal and didn't stop for a shot of this unique sky behind a particularly massive wall of mountain. Couldn't resist a brief stop at the bottom to capture another unusual cloud formation, but not a patch on the mountain views.
As far as we know, the storm came to nothing, but there's rain now in much of Brazil and I'm apprehensive of what will happen when it reaches Rio. Meantime, horrified by news of the weather in Britain and Europe. Our satellite TV reception was rubbish over the weekend, so it took a Skype call from our older daughter to alert me to what's going on. So much misery for so many people, animals and birds, I do hope things will improve soon.
