"by the light..."

This is not just a light switch....

....this is an Edinburgh flat, did I turn the light off whilst sitting in the taxi to Waverley station light switch!! :(

In the last minute panic to leave the flat I now couldn't remember if I'd turned the light off in the hallway, knowing that there would be no one back at the flat for at least 5 days! Panic set in - a light bulb on constant for 5 days, what if it overheats and blows up, the flat goes on fire and it's all my fault??!

To put my mind at ease I said goodbye to Jayney and legged it back to the flat!! At which point the heavens opened and hurricane force winds decided to arrive and have some fun! :(

And all to find out that the light was indeed still on - so at least it wasn't a wasted trip! Quite glad that I was right because lately I've been forgetting simple things. Leaving the house for work every morning, I lock the door but 30seconds later I'll not be convinced and have to walk back to check the door handle! Perhaps quite funny, but small moments of forgetfulness can easily lead to more serious conditions, or as someone never ceases to remind me - it could all just be a sign of getting old!

By the time I made it back to Dundee I had just enough energy left to walk to the shops to get something for tea before I hit empty and curled up to watch the Ireland game from Saturday! What a game!! So proud of those 15 men in green! Justice was done for the events of the summer, and revenge is a dish best served as a team at a roaring Lansdowne Road! :)
