Well that was an adventure filled day to say the least!

Of all the Starbucks coffee shops in Edinburgh to have lunch in, we chose the one overlooking the castle - half way between Waverley and Murrayfield! And of all coffee shops for the wonderful Mr Declan Murphy to walk into - it had to be this one!!! It was such a surprise to see him when he appeared out of nowhere! He'd recently spent a year teaching in Sri Lanka and I hadn't seen him in maybe 2 years or more! Now he was back in Edinburgh to start a new job! It was really great to see him again and as always it was a laugh a minute!

Then, the English descended on Edinburgh! Walking out to Murrayfield there were tartan army members by the bucket load, ready to help roar Scotland to a win over England! I was so jealous that I didn't have a ticket, but then with the wind and rain, sitting in the nearest pub watching it whilst being warm and dry sounded like the best idea ever! haha!

However, the now brace-less Mim met me to pass the time whilst Jayne and her flatmate Fiona froze their backsides off! She took me to the 'Field of Light' in St. Andrews Square and for want of a better description that's exactly what it was! A huge collection of what appeared to be randomly positioned light bulbs, constantly changing colour. I'm sure that from a considerable height and/or in complete darkness the effects of the lighting would be even more captivating!

A quick cup-a-tea stop and it was back to Murrayfield, and for the 2nd time in one day I felt like a salmon flowing upstream all by itself! The Murrayfield swarms are much more enjoyable when everyone is going in the same direction! haha!

A detour into the dark depths of Leith because we got on the wrong bus number (never again!) and eventually we made it back for KFC and a warm radiator to dry off from the monsoon style rain!!

Phew! What a day!!

Oh, and hard luck Scotland but Ireland you absolute beauty!!! What a match!!!! :)
