Nut stash

Some of our small mammals at the nature reserve have chosen this lichen covered rotten stump for their snack bar. There was a nice pile of hazel nuts with the typical teeth marks of both Wood Mice and Grey Squirrel. I should have taken some photographs earlier in the day when the light was better, but I was completely absorbed with our monthly work party - coppicing hazel and cutting scrub in the best weather we've had for weeks.
