"Hey Hey Helen"
What does a name say about the person it belongs to? Do we ever possess any of the personal qualities, etc that are names are said to represent?
My name, as I have always been told was chosen because when I was born my eyes were wide open - Helen - bright one! :) I don't know how parents ever choose a name for their child but I guess in time you either grow into your name or it grows to fit you, to the extent that we can't imagine being called anything else! If we do it just sounds strange!
I have often thought that the personal qualities said to be connected to a name are a load of nonsense, but sometimes you stumble across something, such as my new mug coaster at work, that makes me reconsider...
So for those that know me, let me ask you - am I a 'bright one'? Am I graceful and elegant?? (highly doubt it!) I know myself that I have a thirst for knowledge and that I am a seeker of the truth - these might explain why I chose the degree and the career path that I have!
After last weekend's adventure to Liverpool, a relaxing weekend of rugby watching (come on Ireland!), hopefully that rescheduled catch up and of course more baking awaits as there are 2 very special events this week - Pancake Day is on Tuesday and there is a 60th birthday on Friday!! :) Can't think of anything else happening this week though....
