What a difference a day makes

After yesterday's awful rain, we actually have sunshine and blue skies today. The wind is chilly, but I'm not complaining !

I took Louis round to Annie's this morning for another visit, as it's next Saturday that he's going to stay for the day when we go to London. When we were nearly there I told him we were going to Annie's, and he started running and bounded up the steps to her front door with his tale wagging. It's only the second time he's been so it's amazing how he'd remembered which house was hers. He was very excited to see her, and he explored her garden and soon settled down, so I'm sure he'll be fine next week.

As it was a lovely morning and decided to go for a walk so before going home, and walked along Marine Parade and then down to Madeira Drive and along the beach so Louis could have a play while I took photos. This shot is from Marine Parade looking towards the town centre. It's worth taking a closer look as there's quite a lot to see, in particular Madeira Lift which is the blue and yellow canopied building which you can see in the centre of the picture. The lift was originally built in 1890 linking Marine Parade with Madeira Drive, and carried visitors to the beach. It's now a Grade II Listed Building and has been fully restored and operates from Easter through to September. You can see some of my other images here if you're interested.

I'm heading back into town later to meet Alan for a drink after work, but I now need to do a bit of ironing and some packing as we're heading up North tomorrow. It's only a quick overnight trip to see my mother-in-law who had an operation a couple of weeks ago. She's doing very well, but with being away last weekend this is the first chance we've had to go and see her, and I'll also get to see my girls too :-)

Hope you all have a good weekend whatever you've got planned!
