Jaipur by rickshaw

The skies above Jaipur are distinctly graying as the winds have changed and a light smog has settled high above the city. Last Thursday night several tankers exploded at an Indian Oil Depot about 10 miles south of the city. With no way to put it out, it has burned for five days billowing petrol smoke miles into the sky. Between six and 13 people were killed, thousands of villagers south of Sanganer were evacuated, 150+ people were treated for issues related to the fire. A friend's niece and nephew have been moved to Bagru, 30 kilometers to the east of Jaipur to keep them out of the heavy petrol smoke. Their parents remained in Sanganer to work. Today the winds have changed bringing whisps of the smoke to hover over the city as they tell us that the fires will be out by tonight.

I had to pick up a few things at the market and took pictures from the back of my rickshaw.
