The beauty of old friends

I spent the whole day visiting old friends today. It has been six years since I have been here and so many things have changed. There are houses built in the middle of places where there once were roads or paths. Whole houses have have lost courtyards and gained work spaces. Second stories, elegant metal gates and whole new families have been created. It was so nice to see everyone. I had so much tea. I ate and ate and ate (the food is SO good!). I came home late, tired, full, and with a bit of a headache, but happy.

My friend Vishnu Devi printed this cloth by hand with wooden blocks. The bangles I bought yesterday in the bazaar (to make myself feel better when I couldn't manage to get a new sim card on a Sunday).
