The Orkneyinga Saga Centre is the place to go if you want to sort out your Rognvalds from your Sigurds and Thorfinns. Ever wondered if Harald the Fairhair was related to Einar Hlodvisson ? Well this is the place that will answer all your questions. A very laudable atttempt to illustrate the Norse history of Orkney.

There's a great little film show, spotless facilities and it offers shelter on days with light showers. You can also explore the round church and the remains of the Earl's Bu. And all for free. Take a picnic.
