Grindally

Walked up to Grindally House, built round 1910. Whenever the Queen Mother visisted Orkney this is where she was domiciled. Our neighbour Mary Gunn, who died when she was 94, waited on to her.

A stunning day here, plenty of sunshine and no wind.

Expecting a visit of Fraser Morgan for lunch who is ten weeks old, he will be accompanied by parents and grandparents.

For lunch CMC is making mulligatwny soup with soda bread, fish pie and then chocolate cake. A special chocolate cake. I never eat chocolate. However we had to phone Fiona, in Aberdeen, for the recipe. The only chocolate cake I have ever eaten.
