Cow's Eye View
This is probably what a Sandhill Crane looks like from a Cow's point of view.
The Fog was so thick this morning at the Beef Unit that I couldn't even see the Cranes as they approached let alone photograph them. I would hear them in the distance and then was only able to get a few shots off as they emerged from the thickest part of the fog and dropped below the tree tops and onto the field. It was a bit frustrating.
The Sandhills have been Kettle-ing the past few days, circling and calling, rounding up their Kettle members to begin the long flight to their Summer nesting grounds. Since this morning's group was about one-third it's usual size, I am guessing that the others have moved on. Always sad to see them go, I look forward to their return in the Fall.
I most likely will not be able to post more Crane images, unless I get lucky. If you would like to see some of my earlier photos look here...Sandhill Cranes. Or here for Cranes and Assorted other Birds Winged Ones. Hope you enjoy them :)
