Preparing the Pitch
With some schools started back this week, the beach was a lot quieter.
It gave this gang of 3 plenty of room for their game of cricket.
Love the wickets.
Last night I headed up to town to go to the cinema to see The Book Thief . I was a bit concerned as it is a book I love and it is often disappointing seeing the movie version, but they have done a great job of it. I went with others who haven't read the book and they enjoyed it too, and said they could follow the story-line without any trouble. I admit that I didn't cry - as many had assured me I would (and I usually do get emotional watching movies), but that is probably because, having taught the book to my seniors, I know it pretty well inside out.
Well worth attending if you are considering it. I'm not actually much of a movie goer but feel this was money well spent.
I stayed in town for the night and ended up in Nelson a lot longer than I expected to be today. Still, it gave me time to buy myself a new toy. For some months now I've been trying hard to convince myself that my phone is annoying me - to give me an excuse to buy a new one. Today I gave up looking for excuses and just bought it.
Now I have to work out how to USE it! I think I should have done this at the start of the holidays (when I talked myself out of it) as that would have given me a lot more time to figure out how to make it work.
Ah well, I'm sure I can find a teenager to show me all its features!
