A new Cotswold stone wall and arch in Woodchester
The first dreamwork workshop of the year was held today. It was very timely for me and helped me to reflect on a couple of issues, some emotional, others more mundane and work related. I really enjoy these days despite them being exhausting, and today was no exception. There were fewer people today which also meant it was possible to be closer to the other participants.
We had spent the day inside but could see the sunshine and blue sky and we all agreed about how lovely it looked. Usually I manage to go for a short walk after we have eaten our shared lunch together, but today the time slipped by and we had to press on. So when we'd finished and had cleared up the village hall in Woodchester, which is the venue, with dusk approaching I dashed out to the car to get the camera.
I told Ulla and Anna, whom I was giving a lift to, that I would be just one minute, whilst I walked twenty yards down the road to take a picture. They are used to the concept of a blip by now. The fading rays of the sun were shining high on the opposite hillside and I just had time to grab this picture. The land on top of that hillside in the far distance is called Rodborough Common and this is the view from the other side of the hill which we see from our rear windows and garden. It was formerly the site was an Iron Age camp. Just a quarter of a mile to the left of this village scene was the site of the famous Woodchester roman mansion where the famous mosaic was discovered in the 18t century. The mansion was thought to be the house of the Roman Governor of the west of England.
