Sridhar's birthday daffodil

I went to visit Camilla today for the first time since she returned last week from her trip to India.  It seems much longer than six weeks since she went away, and there was lots to catch up on.  Her husband, Sridhar, will be coming back on Wednesday as he had stayed on to continue teaching one of his students the sarod, of which he he is a master proponent.  I blipped Sridhar playing his sarod in a concert at Lansdown Hall last April.

We managed to get through various discussions of upcoming issues related to the Neighbourhood Development Plan as well as the Preservation Trust of which we are both trustees.  then we had time for talking about books and travel and discovered a mutual interest in the work of Oliver Rackham, the renowned academic who studies the British countryside, especially trees, woodlands and wood pasture.  It might be possible for us to attend one of his courses together in the springtime which could be wonderful.

Before I left we went out into Camilla's garden as I had spotted some snowdrops and crocuses already in flower there.  She mentioned that one daffodil always comes into flower in early January on Sridhar's birthday and here it is.  I chose it rather than the snowdrops as it produced a more impressive picture today in the rather dim light under a very cloudy sky.  I'm sure there will be more snowdrops for me to blip ion due course.
