The boots have it

I took photos of a boat on the horizon on a sunny day; of 2 friends walking together and chatting, haring across a stream, spinning each other around on the beach, but I've chosen this one because I think it's cute.

'Take a picture of their boots,' Richard said.
'I'm taking a photo of your boots. I've no idea why - I'm just doing as I'm told,' I said to the girls.
But I like it. It was a good idea. Richard doesn't have good ideas very often so I'll give him that one

;o)

Tess and her friend were tired after talking until late last night. Plus they both have a cold. Tess didn't eat too well but they were both pleasant and cheerful all day. We went into town with the girls this morning and got Tess a new coat - after noting her arms sticking out well past the sleeve ends of the coat she's had since last winter. And she spent some of her birthday money on some plastic, cute-faced hairy things that are popular at the moment (<< there's a joke in there somewhere).
After a snack we went to the beach with the dog, and despite the tiredness I noted how much easier Tess was with a friend to keep her happy.

Back home we had lunch and left the girls to play for a while longer.

Tess has a school project to hand in on Tuesday and she's nowhere near finished but I think the weekend she's had was far far far more important for her. The project will have to be late.
