WELCOME HOME

On arriving home after a spell away it is always a pleasure to wander around the garden and pick something to eat on the spot. There is something very special about eating the fruit warmed by the sun, in the shade of the tree. This time it was the prunes that were sweet and crisp and one was not enough. I wandered on and found a late ripening yellow peach. Delicious!
The almonds, pictured here, should hang on the tree a bit longer to grow plump before being picked and dried. The velvety husks have popped open but the kernels will benefit from being on the tree longer. The figs and grapes are late this year due to the rains.
