Doha Days

Car ownership has burgeoned here in the last four years. Road building has expanded exponentially. Roundabouts are being phased out as noone here understands them. There is no pattern to where and how the roads will suddenly block and clear. It is impossible to predict how long journeys will take around the city as a consequence. This was the view down one of the highways on my way home. So far I have only seen one intrepid cyclist - a far braver man than me. If all goes according to plan I will get my temporary driving licence on Thursday - do I really want to drive here?!
