Sure you want those in the same glass, madam?

In the early 90s, the pre-clubbing tipples of choice of the Lady Students of Glasgow Uni Physics and Maths Departments was Malibu and Peach Schnapps. Sometimes separate with mixers, sometimes together, but always followed by a grand night shaking our thang at The Hive (RIP), the Cotton Club (RIP), The Garage or, if all went horribly wrong, Clatty Pats.

Last year, in an attempt to recapture my youth, I requested a Malibu and Peach Schnapps in a local Leith bar. The student barman looked at me quizzically, and inquired "Are you sure you want those in the same glass, madam?"

This morning I recreated that fruity coconut Sunday morning feeling, minus hangover, with coconut and nectarine french toast.
