Cross country

More often than not, the annual cross country meeting in Holyrood Park takes place in the pelting rain or freezing frost. Today, it was positively balmy, so I wandered along to spectate instead of just shouting at the telly. You can get much closer to the action than when in a stadium, and the sounds are different - like a pack of racehorses thumping over the ground, grunting and panting. The blip is Kenyan supremo Asbel Kiprop charging past me on the final lap.
