Crimson sky sunrise

The sun is shining today, the icy trees are glittering, the fresh snow is perfect for playing outdoors... but as picturesque as everything looks today, no other scene can hold a light to this morning's sunrise!

One of the advantages to short days at this time of year is that I'm usually up by sunrise. This morning, I would have had to be living in a cave to miss these incredible reds radiating from the east. I grabbed my camera and managed to get this photo from our upstairs window before the colour started to fade.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching the sky.
