Oh How I Like to Go up in the Air..
The diet of course did not start today as those cynics amongst you might have guessed.
I had good intentions with an early attack on the gym, but any effect was negated by the afternoon tea for two offer at M&S which was a birthday present to me by their bank back at the beginning of November and due to finish today.
Loath to miss out on any freebie, I invited His Lordship to join me for a sandwich selection, scones with clotted cream and two pots of tea, in the Princes Street store.
It was rather on the early side I admit for afternoon tea but just right for an early lunch snack.
This little treat was only taken up after I had persuaded him to sit beside me again on the Sky Flyer on its last day of Christmas operation.
It was a different day from the last time at the end of November when we were up in the sky. Today was grey with no sun and windy enough at the top to wonder if my bunnet would go the same way as the part of seat which fell to earth recently.
My view is to the east of Edinburgh with the Calton Hill, sporting Edinburgh's Disgrace, the Observatory and Nelson's Column, with East Lothian and Berwick Law just visible in the distance. Arthur's Seat is to the right behind the clock tower of the Scotsman Hotel.
It all seemed a perfect 12th Night celebration ahead of Epiphany tomorrow and the end of Christmas for another year.
