Looking Up the Mound

This is the view, with a little artistic licence, looking up the Mound from our coffee stop vantage point this morning.

We had ventured down town to buy some birthday cards and view the dregs of the Hogmanay Party fun fair- so tacky as to be literally a sight for sore eyes.

While searching the cards, I found one which will echo His Lordship' sentiments later.
It is in monochrome and depicts a well dressed elderly man peering through the blinds of a sitting room window and saying 'Oh My God Elsie, the whole family is coming up the path'!

Although not nearly the whole family, the arrival this afternoon of three daughters, a son-in-law, and four assorted grandchildren, none of which is his blood relation, will be instrumental in his going for a walk, as suggested by a daughter who knows his proclivity for silence and peace.

His Door today is no protection when under siege like this.
