Off Centre

In between the tides.

This was the sea at its very smallest today. The tide was low and Putsborough doesn't often get as big as the other beaches. So this is nothing really.

What with the thunder and lightning, the wind howling all night and the rain lashing against the windows I didn't get much sleep last night.

Living high up means we get the wind but not the flooding. We woke up to a bit of damage around the roof but nicely dry. Barnstaple was a bit flooded but nothing too serious. Further up and down the coast there was trouble at Lynmouth and Instow.

The "calm" bit of the day was the brief bit where it almost didn't rain as much and you could almost stand up in the wind.

It's been lashing it down again just now and there's more to come.
And then more.

We've been planning phase 1 of Tess's 9th birthday for Sunday but the weather may scupper everything...

In other news I got a Sainsbury's restock, and we've found out our oven will probably cost about £250 to have repaired.... Ugh. Why is everything falling apart?
