What's it all about, Alfie?

Meet Alfie. Isn't she gorgeous?

I met Alfie this afternoon. She lives with Nik and his family and I may have embarassed Nik (I think he's about 23 years old now and I have known him since 1998) by saying 'how sweet to call your cat after one of your boyhood friends'. Nik's response was 'No, no, she's my girlfriend's cat. She named her'. To which I just winked at him and said 'It's okay. Childhood friendships run deep'. My impression was that I guess he thought I was slightly insane.

It was a lovely afternoon, catching up with Nik and his sisters and his parents. I worked with his mum from 1998-2009 and I had a meeting today to discuss doing some freelance work for her. It's going to be good working with her again.
