Big Day Out

We left home late morning for a 2 hour round trip visit to Mt Cook.

We got home 8 hours later.

We got sidetracked and went up both the Hooker and Tasman valleys to the road ends (both places I'd never been before). Then we went to the head of lake Pukaki, took a drive down the canals and alongside the top end of Lake Benmore, then drove back out to the main road and down to Otematata and across the top of Benmore Dam.

Fantastic scenery everywhere - so great that I can't make a choice for a blip, so I've given up on the scenery and am blipping a pair of NZ tits instead. She may not be as showing as her black and white partner but she is just as good a bug catcher! These two were fascinating. They were clearly feeding babies but I couldn't get a shot of them in the middle of a matagouri bush.
