Lake Pukaki

Merry Christmas from South Canterbury.

I took myself out for a drive this morning and headed to Lake Pukaki. It was a lovely place to sit and watch the water and the sky change. It was also a great place to sit and do some thinking.

I had Blaze with me and did some talking, and some laughing and some crying. I’m sure the buses full of tourists pulling into the lake wondered about the crazy lady down the end of the beach.

When I was ready I came back to the house and we have had a lovely quiet family day. Some more tears, some more laughter, and good company. Blaze gave me a great book for Christmas that I am looking forward to reading (chose it myself last week) and I gave myself a gorgeous pair of shoes that I bought in Oamaru yesterday.

I’ve eaten too much, and started my new book – but my eyes were closed (and I was probably snoring) so I don’t know much about it yet!

Hope you’ve all had (or are having) a wonderful day.
