A sunny lie-in

Yesterday finished a little too adventurously even for my taste. Torrential rain, an ice covered road, and a steep hill are not a good mix. We didn't make it up the hill even with our studded winter tyres but when the car came to a halt and I put the brakes on it then started to slide backwards down the hill, slewing round at the same time! It came to a halt angled across the whole road. All the grit on the road had been washed away and the surface was pure wet ice!
It all ended well with no injuries and no damage to the car but it took a couple more hours, a barrowload of sand fetched from home, and a lot of standing out in the rain to get the car into a safe place. We walked the last few hundred meters and came in late, wet and very bedraggled! I didn't even have to energy to blip so I backblipped earlier today.
So we took it easy this morning. There we were drinking cups of tea and coffee in bed, surrounded by candles, when the sun came up at 09:30. It shone through the doorway, onto a mirror and back onto the open door giving us this glorious light!
Eventually we got up and I wandered down the hill to where we'd left the car. The road was now really well gritted and I just got in and drove home with no drama at all.  Then it was off to work...
