Midwinter Sunrise from Home

Midwinter's day - the shortest day of the year. This was a day with many photographs and it was really hard to choose the blip. It started with a really spectacular sunrise but despite the glorious red tints the sun never actually appeared. The sky turned grey and snow fell through the the day.
The midwinter solstice was at 18:11 Swedish time and we planned a bonfire to mark the turning of the year. And to welcome our guests we lit the brazier and put a few extra lights around the door to the house.
But as you see the sunrise won the blip contest though you can see the other photos on Flickr.
