Weather

Driving back from our flying visit up North, and the conditions couldn't have been worse. Gale force winds, driving rain, low visibility, and still some idiots driving along without any lights. We were lucky in one way; the signs told us the motorway was closed just a few miles ahead of us so we managed a detour to avoid the problem. Whatever caused it must have only just happened as those roads were clear but I've just heard on the radio that nearly four hours later the motorway is still closed and there's chaos in the area, including on the detour we took. For once we were just in time and are now safely home, warm and dry.
