Southport

Had a trip over to Southport today, the first time I've been there for many years. I went to look at the house my mother lived in as a young girl some 70-80 years ago. In its day it was clearly a grand large house but sadly, it's seen better days and is now divided into several, fairly seedy looking, flats. I was pleasantly surprised by the rest of Southport though; the Victorian canopies along the shops in Lord Street are still there and in reasonable condition, and the pier has a modern tram running all the way to the end. I took a picture of the line running into the distance along the pier which was going to be today's Blip until I spotted this, which rather appealed.
