#Lovember the 29th

Friday, written on Saturday.

Mud, planting, getting mucky, preparing for the future. I love it.

After a few hurried dodgy entries recently, I finally get to do a proper ***Love*** entry for my Lovember month.

Today was almost a bit normal and boring. I bloody love normal and boring!

I dug holes, planted an apple tree and planted blueberry plants. I could only find one holey gardening glove so I worked with bare hands until my skin was purple with cold and my nails were full of dirt.

Planting and growing has supported me through some tough emotions in the same way writing has: It's made me concentrate on something other than myself and my life, it's taken me away from convention and petty stuff, it's made me think about what I'm doing and why I'm doing it - on a grander scale, and it's made me appreciate what goes quietly and yet magnificently in the background despite the attempts of man.

Stepping out of the mainstream and working bloody hard at something with no rewards other than those you know and you feel is simply wonderful.

I used some of our homemade compost in my planting today. Who knew that could be so satisfying?!

Humans are both wonderful and crap. Nature is just wonderful and not crap.
