A Feast for the Senses
I was a little self-indulgent today and went off to Manchester to the Christmas Market, the biggest and best I know of in this country, although I'm sure someone might tell me different. I'm not a fan of Christmas in general, but one of the things I do like is a good Christmas Market with the amazing sights and smells. There was cheese, pancakes and plants from Holland, Spekulatius, Gluhwein, Bratwurst and baubles from Germany, chocolate from Belgium, confit from France, glass from Romania, panettone from Italy, knitwear from Nepal....
I also enjoy the train journey across the Big Hill. Today it was quite misty and dull, but as always, beautiful and atmospheric.
