Have a little faith
You'll be pleased to know that I am worn out today so this is definitely going to be a short one. When I woke in the dark, I stretched out my hand and pressed the button on my phone to see what time it was - 4:56. That's usually the time my alarm goes off in Brum but it still amazes me that I can wake up at that time wherever I am or whether I have the alarm set or not.
I came out of the bathroom and nearly died of shock on the spot and/or shit myself when I heard a disembodied voice come out of the darkness saying 'DON'T FORGET TO DRY YOUR HAIR!'
'Good grief mom!' I shrieked. 'What are you doing up at this ridiculous hour? Are you trying to kill me off?'
'No!' she answered before continuing 'I wouldn't know what songs you'd want playing at your funeral or how you want it doing.'
Now when is the last time you had that kind of a conversation at 5:15am in the morning?
Anyway, I dried my hair as instructed and then went upstairs to start work. It was a very busy working day too. Mom went off to the hairdressers at 8:45 and returned a couple of hours later via mass and TK Maxx for mince pies from the cafe.
Someone remind me to compile my document with a list of good reasons for permanent home working tomorrow? I said I'd get it submitted by the end of Wednesday. I need to include good business reasons too, not just personal ones. I'm sure that everyone else getting more work done when I'm not in the office is a good one....
The weather had turned rotten by the time I finished late at 5pm today. Mom refused to pose for me despite having tidy Tuesday hair so this gloomy effort from a walk towards the beach is all I have. I nearly got run over on the way back as I'd thought I stepped in something which turned out mercifully to be a patch of wet leaves and stopped to check in a daft place. I barely heard the car hurtling round the corner with the stiffening sea breeze whistling in my ears!
