Brambling
After my late but fruitful birding outing yesterday afternoon, I thought I'd return a bit earlier with my big lens. I was rewarded with some great sightings, including rook, jackdaw, crow, fieldfare, redwing, mistle thrush, brambling, goldfinch, robin, starling, bullfinch and blackbird, all in a small patch no more than a football pitch in size. the attraction? Lots of those yummy rowan berries. I wonder if there's any chance of waxwings this year. They were already arriving this time last year, but it really was a remarkable waxwing winter, when they even treated those down south some fine sightings.
An early blip today, as I'm off to Fungi Night tonight, where I'll be MC-ing again
