Show off

I don't usually put pot plants on my big dining table - it is too vulnerable, but with the Mah-jong crowd coming last night I wanted to show off my Christmas cactus which is looking its exuberant best at the moment. It was much admired and will now go back into its normal position by the window.
Seven of us played Mah-jong on two tables in front of a flickering log fire. We had a very happy evening but the tiles didn't come my way. Mah-jong is a game of skill but you need luck as well! It didn't really matter - I enjoyed the game.
