New shoes for our sweetheart

I took Maple back to the Orthopedic Surgeon today as I have noticed her feet turning in again since walking. I was worried she had had a relapse after all that time in casts. But no. Apparently, her feet are so straight, you can measure them with a ruler (And he did). That is all fine. It is now something called femoral anteversion that has become apparent since walking..... another thing to deal with. It means her thigh bone is more inwardly rotated than normal. It makes her walk slightly pigeon toed. She sits in a 'W' shape often as that is what is most comfortable. She is a little clumsy too.

On the positive side, in 80% of cases self corrects by the age 10 or early adolescence. It very rarely causes any discomfort or problems with hips/knees. Maple's isn't a severe case so I am thinking it can only get better and better. The femoral ante version is unrelated to her foot thing (Bilateral metatarsus). The doctor said special shoes won't help... there really is nothing we can do for her apart from get her a good, supportive pair of shoes. He recommended Ecco's so I went to Dubai Mall and got her a pair. I am probably going to take her for another check up when she turns 2.
