The Last Day Ended Well

Despite the stupidly wet weather this morning, we managed to load our cars with our luggage, not rain water, before 10am! P & myslef hit the pool (for a change!) while the others had a coffee & a wander under cover in the Village. The roof of the undercover Village can be seen in the collaged blip.

We topped the holiday off with a full English (in a French Cafe, as you do), apart from P who had a bacon butty as shown above. P wanted a tattoo (the painting kind) but the Tattoo parlour was shut, :-( so he spent his savings on some gems, rocks & fossils in the Village toy shop. Well chuffed he was :-D (though his Auntie D was well jell).

Though it was sad to be leaving Centre Parcs, P was well made up when he was given the duty to hand the 3 "keys" back via the "hand-in boxes" situated around the Parc.
The keys are electronic wristbands (no, not the prison type, though one does often wonder whether they can be "let out" of CP occasionally!) which were brilliant. They were used to lock/unlock the villa, but could also use them for the swimming lockers, which meant no more "have you got a pound for the locker?". They could also be used as a tab band, allowing you to pay for things (up to £300) without getting your wallet/cash out. We chose not to this as it meant handing over our bank details :-/.

On the way back to our cars I spotted a red/white spotty mushroom, click, as you do!

All-in-all it was a fabulous 5 day break.

Home safe 'n' sound.

On a sadder note, upon returning home I recieved some very sad and shocking news that my Uncle T passed away lastnight. He had been poorly for sometime now, but had been well looked after & monitored through his regular check-ups recently. Unfortunately it "took a turn for the worst" yesterday. RIP, Uncle T
