Gala
It was a very long evening in the EPIC swimming pool: a lot of waiting around for the kids as the organisers went through the motions of clicking stop watches, firing guns & handing out medals, while us parents and friends had to sit a get steamed to death on plastic seats. It was fookin' boiling in the stands! The kids all enjoyed it and the event was very well run.
Tuttle Jnr can be seen here diving off platform No.5 in his last race, the breast stroke. He was truly gutted in this race as breast stroke is one of his strongest strokes and despite the good diving his goggles leaked a bit on the moment of impact. He managed to come 4th ti his annoyance. Still he did extremely well overall picking up two bronzes in the back stroke & the 4x medley at the beginning.
Mr & Mrs Tuttle were well pleased & proud.
It was late finishing, which meant a visit to the local (24hr) MacDonald's. This was a nice way yo finish the evening on many levels. As a family we had a laugh, but what made it all the more exciting was all the commotion that went on in MacDonald's. It was late and there were a lot of older kids hanging around, not necessarily causing trouble, but merely being cheeky with the staff. One kid complained that he only got two chicken McNuggets in his box while others were moaning that there aren't enough toilets and deliberately trying to sit in areas of the restaurant that have been cornered off for cleaning. It was funny to us cos we were smack bang in the middle of it all. Tuttle Jnr blanked it all and played on the free touch screen games.
We had to leave as soon as we finished as tensions started to build......
