Sail Away
Started the day with a huge breakfast at the Milton at Crathes. After breakfast (or brunch) we headed towards Crathes Estate. The view of the Mill Pond was much the same as the other day. I could have posted almost the same photo with the same sky. There was a little sun coming through a few gaps in the clouds and it was quite a bit warmer.
We decided to follow one of the walks, I think it was the white path, This turned out to be a bad choice as neither of us was dressed to walk the the bog left by the rain yesterday. We had noticed the flow of water from the pond was deeper than when I was there on Tuesday.
We gave up on the Crathes walk and headed to Stonehaven. Here we lost the sun behind low cloud and it was noticeably cooler. I was pleased to see it was high tide and there was lots of activity in the harbour. There were several sailing boats heading out to sea. In the period we were there the sea became noticeably more agitated, and by the time we were leaving the small sailing boats were all scurrying back to the safety of the harbour. The RNLI inshore rescue boat we had seen earlier was presumably not needed as it looked like all the boats were coming in.
